Thank you for your interest in the Tenorio School of Lutherie. Mark Tenorio has been building and repairing musical instruments professionally since 1987. He began his formal training in 1989 at the Roberto Venn School of Lutherie in Phoenix, AZ. His course work at Roberto Venn concentrated on the construction and design of the electric and acoustic guitar. After graduation Mark was offered a teaching position but he turned it down to pursue his career in Denver, CO. In January 1999, after many years of repairing guitars for five local music stores, Mark & his wife Erin began their own business TENORIO WERX. They have become authorized for Fender - gold level, Guild - gold level, Rodriguez, De Armond, Alvarez, Ovation, Takamine, and Hamer. Seeking more knowledge in the construction of the Traditional Spanish Guitar Mark and Erin attended the Jose Romanillos Master Guitar Building Class in Siguenza, Spain in August 2002.

Many of Mark’s clients have requested to further their knowledge of guitars so he has designed a series of Guitar Repair classes. The series is to be taken in sequence beginning with Guitar Repair Basics and ending with Repair intensive.

Guitar Repair Basics: This course is designed to give you the knowledge and terminology to understand the mechanics of the guitar, maintain your instrument once it has been professionally set up, evaluate your instrument, and what to look for when purchasing new and used instruments. Bring your instruments - electric, acoustic (steel string or classical), or bass to be evaluated. This class is limited to 5 people.

Saturday 9 am - 4 pm, September 26, 2009 - $250.00

Repair Intermediate: This is a hands on repair class. Bring one instrument for you to set up from beginning to end under Mark’s guidance and your ruler from Repair Basics. Other tools will be available for use in the shop.

Saturday 9 am - 5 pm, October 10, 2009- $275.00

Repair Intensive - Full Set Ups: Picks up where the intermediate class left off. Set ups intensified. No lecture, all hands on. Bring up to three instruments. Saturday 9 am - 5 pm, October 24, 2009 - $325.00*

Repair Intensive - Fret Levels: Learn the basics of leveling and crowning frets. Bring up to three instruments.

Saturday 9 am - 5 pm, TBA - $325.00*

Repair Intensive - Building Nuts: Building nuts from bone or graphite. Bring up to three instruments.
